Dear Music Publisher,

Below, you will find a sample graphic showing the type of score commentary I intend to include in my eBook: "How to Write Your Songs Down."

All scores used in the eBook will be used with permission only.

The eBook provides access to a specific, interested, highly targeted, warm market for publishers.

Publishers have the following options:

  1. Refuse Dainis W. Michel (hereafter referred to as Author) permission to use examples of their materials in his teaching guides. (I am actually interested in the law on this matter, since I'm marking up and commenting on the notation in order to help others learn how to notate their songs. Such use of material may fall under educational exclusions of which I am currently not aware...please advise)
  2. Allow Author permission to use examples (or selected examples) for "image quoting" where the source is duly noted.
  3. Enter into a formal agreement with Author to include links to the publishers books within Author's eBook. Author and Publisher will agree on a percentage sales fee for all books sold via referral from Author's eBook or from Author's Website.
